MEET THE KA SOCIETY TEAM

Euan CraneEUAN CRANE

The student work at The Kings Arms, known as The K.A. Society, is run by Euan Crane who is on the Pastoral Team at The Kings Arms.

“Hi, my names Euan and I've been heading up the student work here for the last three years. I'm married to Sarah and we have two daughters, Holly and Poppy and a new-born son Macauley.

I work for the church on a part-time basis and I'm also a police officer (I've even done a police tv show which is being shown on Bravo! Don't watch it, it's really not that good). My two jobs are very different but they seem to compliment each other nicely.

The more I work with students, the more I see how much they need God. University life can be so tough, firstly for Christians where it may be there first time away from home in an environment which shouts out to live for the moment. We want to be here for those people, to support and encourage them by living life with them and having regular meetings, meals, worship and prayer times.

Uni can also be a tough place to witness to students who don't know God yet and we want to be a group that reaches out in a relevant way, that both men and women can feel that we are in touch with what they are going through and at the same time, hold true to what the bible says.

I feel strongly that God is going to move powerfully on campus and start to change the way that people think and live their lives while at Uni.

I would love it if you contacted us or came along to one of our Church meetings on a Sunday morning or evening or meet with us on a Wednesday evening.

See you there!

Euan

Hi guys,

My name is Matt, I have recently graduated from Bedfordshire University in Adventure Recreation. My time at the university was a season in my life that I will never forget. When I turned up in Bedford I had already decided that I wanted to really pursue my walk with Jesus and having visited the Kings Arms Church in my first week I have never looked back!

Being involved at the church and with the KA Society, God has shaped and moulded me, and continues to do so. I have seen how the university in Bedford can be an amazing place to meet people, and have a great time. However, I have also experienced sides to student life which are challenging and can be difficult for us. I decided shortly after my arrival that I would make the choice to no longer carry on living my double life of being a Christian yet acting as if I wasn’t. So with the help of the KA Society and the church I turned up my passion for God and actively pursued Him whilst at university.

Since completing my degree I have come on board with Euan Crane as a student worker on a one year internship called the Frontier Year Project. My role this year will be to support all students who come along to the Kings Arms, as well as working along side students in order to see the Kingdom of God come upon the University of Bedfordshire.

KA Society really helped me get through university life and I have no doubt that it will help you too. I’d really like to encourage all of you, whether you are regulars at church or are just interested in what its all about to make contact with me and keep your Wednesday nights open, as the KA Society never fails to have an encounter with God.

All the best

Matt
